OnePlus’ new ‘budget’ smartphone the Nord N200 5G, launched last week by T-Mobile in the U.S and also coming to other US retailers soon. OnePlus joined the bandwidth of entry-level phones last year with the arrival of the OnePlus Nord N10 and OnePlus Nord N100.
OnePlus has now released the phone’s software update timeline and it’s quite disappointing to know that OnePlus Nord N200, will get only one major software update. This is presumably Android 12, as Nord 200 5G was launched with Android 11 out-of-the-box.
Additionally, OnePlus will also provide three years of ‘maintenance updates’ to the OnePlus Nord N200 5G. The company, did not comment about the time gap between the two maintenance updates.
The new OnePlus Nord N200 5G debuted in Canada and the US earlier this month. The device comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 480 SoC with 5G-connectivity. Other features include a 90Hz display with Full-HD+ resolution, a triple rear camera system, and a 5,000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support
Meanwhile, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau had also announced OnePlus-Oppo merger earlier this month. Lau said that OnePlus has been working with Oppo since last year to streamline operations and capitalize on additional shared resources.
Pete also adds that one of the changes could be “faster and more stable software updates” which are often demanded by customers. OnePlus Nord N200 5G (4GB + 64GB )price starts at $239.99 (roughly Rs. 17,600).
