Indian government ban yet another 47 Chinese apps on Monday almost a month after the Indian government banned 59 Chinese apps including popular ones like TikTok and UC browser.
The government is yet to release the list of 47 new apps that have been banned now. Although we get to know that these 47 apps were operating as clones or lite versions of the apps banned earlier and they were taken down from Google Playstore and Apple store.
List of 47 Banned Chinese App;
According to a Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology official, “The apps were found to be operating despite the ban via these versions. They have been taken down from application stores.”
As per the report, a list of over 250 apps has been prepared will examine for any user privacy or national security violations which includes apps like Alibaba, PUBG, Tencent games.
The Chinese applications, that are being booked into have allegedly been sharing data with the Chinese agencies. That ban was announced under the provisions of Section 69A of the Information Technology Act.
