Xiaomi AirDot Review; High in Sound, Low in price

Redmi Airdot

Xiaomi is something that manufactures everything and makes it “Super-affordable” and Xiaomi Redmi Airdots is one of them, a “true wireless” earbuds. If you don’t want to spend on high-end true wireless earbuds like the Samsung Galaxy Buds, Apple AirPods, Sony earpods, JBL, or cheaper unknown brands, then Xiaomi Airdots is the one made for you.

Design & build

Xiaomi doesn’t compromise with quality and that can be easily seen in the Airdots thanks to the classic hinge-lid case that protect and recharge the Airdots when they are not in use. The earbuds held in place by small magnets inside the protective case.

The Airdots have a curved rectangle design which makes it sit easily in the ear, the inner section housing is rubberized providing a secure fit that doesn’t pop out the earbuds from ears but sometimes it does pop out as experienced by me.

Although they are made from plastic but it doesn’t feel and its quite lightweight and comes with IPX4 protection means they are splash and spill-proof. Each bud comes with LED, which displays red when they are charging or not paired and white when they are ready to pair. Also when you plucked it from the case they automatically start searching for a nearby Bluetooth device and reconnect to it.

Sound Quality

I have to admit that Xiaomi Airdots does sound good in your ears but make sure that the buds are firmly in your ear though to gets it’s full potential. Pairing is easy thanks to the Bluetooth 5.0 which connects it in just a few second although Bluetooth 5.0 doesn’t extend the Bluetooth range much as it said to be, I didn’t find any differences in range compared to Bluetooth 4.0.

To make and receive a call there is a microphone present on the earbud. In Indoor the person on the other end of the call can hear us properly but in outdoor or noise condition the other side person feel a bit difficult on hearing my voice but otherwise, it’s fantastic. There is a button present on each bud, click once to receive or end the call while other times will play or pause the music and clicking it twice will shoot your preferred Voice assistance. I personally feel other than just play and pause it will be helpful if we can play the next track with one click.

The Bass

Redmi Airdot

Xiaomi AirDots has a very punchy bass and sounds melodious to your ears. The mid-bass and sub-bass provide a great experience without getting over-blasted. This Xiaomi Airdots gets very loud, for the pleasant experience I always keep the Volume at 75% and don’t go much beyond to it.

Battery Life

Xiaomi Redmi AirDots consist of 300mAh battery that gives you around 12-14 hours of potential playback which is at par compared to its competitors and expensive earbuds in the market, with that amount of battery backup you can use it multiple times in a week with a single charge.

However, each bud provides you up to four hours of backup but returning them to the charging case extends its battery range up to three-time by charging the buds in short of time span. The only drawback that I found that the charging case comes with a micro USB port instead of Type-C port which is a let-down in this age of technology where every smartphone comes with Type-C support.

Redmi Airdot

Xiaomi Airdots is a perfect music companion that you always wanted with no strings attached to it and it won’t stop in between thanks to its long hour’s battery life. You can use it anywhere in your gym session, long-haul flights, in tours anywhere.

The Redmi Airdots provides an amazing experience with rich bass and long hours of playback that too at affordable prices. My only complaint is the absences of USB Type-C port in Airdots but hey that just me for others I don’t think it will make much difference. So go ahead and get yourself a perfect music companion in the form of Redmi Airdots.
